Missouri Medicaid/CHIP Coverage

As of 2022, 1,218,341 Missourians are currently enrolled in Medicaid/CHIP coverage.1 Following the Marketplace Open Enrollment Period in October 2013, this number represents a 44.00% increase in enrollment rates.1  Although the rate of enrollment for those eligible in Missouri has been on the rise, not everyone who is eligible for these plans is currently enrolled.1 To spur further involvement in these programs and increase those receiving Medicaid/CHIP coverage, Missouri has deployed targeted enrollment strategies which, along with the net increase in enrollment, bodes well for health insurance agents looking to expand their clientele.1

Missourians who are receiving their health insurance coverage through Medicaid would likely benefit from working with a licensed insurance agent who can help connect them with a plan that offers them access to the level of care quality they are looking for. Missouri reported that 23 of the 27 CMS quality of care standards were being adequately met for adult recipients enrolled in Medicaid.1 Missourians looking to improve their experience of the care they receive through their coverage are a source of prospects for agents in Missouri wanting to make lasting and loyal connections with their clients and communities — ensuring both improvement of member care and growth of agent success.
